Jackie
I would expect the flowers on any given stalk to be similar but those on stalks from different bulbs to vary. When I worked in a flower shop we used a lot of stargazers and the flowers varied considerably. On your side blooming ones, perhaps the shade produced by either the house or some trees might be the cause.

You have a wonderful collection of roses such as New Dawn, Dortmund, Greensleeves, Lillian Austen, Margo Koster, Ambridge and Marjorie Fair. Each has her own quality that would please every type of personality. Dortmund is fine with me 'coz she not does not need much spraying or watering and her color is so adorable! Thanks Karen for giving us a view of your lovely rose garden!

Interesting about the name "stargazers". I have some, too, and I'm enjoying them, but mine open more to the side than up. Also, some stalks have flowers that are less interesting/pretty than others (mostly white with pink inside rather than mostly pink with white edges). They were supposed to be the same and this is the first year that I've noticed this difference.
